Job description

The award-winning Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel and Suites is searching for a dynamic Executive Chef. In this role, you will lead operations in Mosaic Kitchen, Bar & Lounge, Banquets, and In Room Dining. Mosaic reflects the rich cultural diversity of Southern Ontario, featuring an open kitchen and flame oven, offering rustic, worldly dishes with local ingredients from Ontario and surrounding provinces.

What will I be doing?

As Executive Chef, you are responsible for enhancing the hotel's reputation by producing high-quality food across all outlets and developing a skilled kitchen team. Your tasks include:

  1. Leading the kitchen team and fostering their development
  2. Implementing effective succession planning
  3. Creating menus that meet customer needs and brand standards
  4. Ensuring consistent quality in food production
  5. Building positive relationships with guests, staff, contractors, and suppliers
  6. Resolving issues promptly and effectively
  7. Managing operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and waste control
  8. Overseeing all kitchen functions—operational, quality, and administrative
  9. Gathering and responding to customer feedback
  10. Allocating resources according to business needs
  11. Ensuring compliance with legislation and food safety standards
  12. Controlling costs to improve profit margins
  13. Maintaining team knowledge of menus and promotions
  14. Fostering good communication within the hotel
  15. Managing staffing levels and conducting meetings
  16. Handling performance issues and staff recruitment
  17. Ensuring safety, hygiene, and maintenance standards
  18. Managing financial performance and menu reviews
  19. Promoting environmental awareness and waste reduction
