Job description

Lead all daily kitchen functions, ensuring smooth and timely production of all catering orders.

Take the lead on high-profile or large-scale events, collaborating with event chefs and the operations team.

Provide culinary direction and innovation in partnership with the Executive Sous Chef and Executive Pastry Chef.

Set and maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and guest experience.

Represent the company at tastings, brand activations, and industry events.

Team & Culture

Inspire and lead a collaborative and professional culinary team.

Foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and continual improvement.

Oversee hiring, training, mentorship, and performance management for kitchen staff.

Ensure strict compliance with food safety and sanitation protocols.

Financial & Strategic Management

Partner with ownership and senior leadership to develop and execute financial targets.

Manage food and labor budgets while maintaining profitability and quality.

Oversee purchasing, vendor negotiations, and inventory systems in conjunction with operations leaders.

Utilize tools such as inventory and catering management platforms to drive insights and improvements.

Contribute to new revenue strategies and business development efforts.

Operational Oversight

Ensure consistent execution and smooth day-to-day kitchen workflows.

Collaborate with event planning and sales teams for seamless coordination.

Monitor inventory levels and supply chain performance.

Maintain and update food safety protocols in line with evolving standards and regulations.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Executive Chef in high-end catering, hospitality, or large-scale kitchen environments.

Strong track record of creative menu development, kitchen leadership, and premium food execution.

Skilled in cost control, labor planning, and team development.

Confident communicator with a collaborative mindset and strong client-facing presence.

In-depth understanding of food safety regulations and catering logistics.

Experience with platforms like Payworks and Total Party Planner is an asset.
