Job summary

Compass-Group in Canada is seeking an Executive Chef to lead catering operations and ensure flawless food execution. You will develop client relationships, craft menus with trending concepts, and maintain strict health and safety standards.

The role requires five years of chef experience, three years of leadership, ServSafe and allergen-awareness certificates, and the ability to travel across Canada. Strong communication and team leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of Chef experience with a strong catering background.
• At least three years of leadership experience.
• ServSafe and Allergen Awareness certificates required.
• Ability to manage high-volume catering projects.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Canada.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Ensure catering food execution is flawless.

• Demonstrate creativity with menus and current trends within healthy guidelines.
• Follow all health & safety policies, HACCP requirements.
• Oversee staff at stations; maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Ensure compliance with Compass QA, Health & Safety, OHSA and WHMIS.
• Coordinate inspections and WHMIS training; report incidents to Food Service Director.

Job description

Pay or shift range: $60,000 CAD to $70,000 CAD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Description

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards program will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Canadian work experience is not a requirement for this role. • Ensure catering food execution is flawless.

• Follow all H&S policies and regulations as well as HACCP.
• Oversee staff in their stations and maintain cleanliness of all stations and kitchen areas.
• Ensure strict compliance with Compass Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Programs, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.
• Coordinate frequent workplace inspections and WHMIS training of all staff and promptly report any workplace incident to the Food Service Director or designate.
