This role is 100% remote and will be located in the United States or Canada, with a preference for candidates in the Pacific or Mountain Standard Time Zones.

An overview of this role

We are seeking a strategic and proactive Executive Business Administrator (EBA) to support our Legal and Corporate Affairs team. EBAs at GitLab manage various systems including Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Navan, and GitLab to accomplish tasks efficiently, while focusing on prioritization and escalation of urgent issues.

EBAs are self-driven, collaborative, and agile team members who are experienced in managing multiple priorities, responsibilities, and anticipating executive needs. They are highly organized, resourceful, calm under pressure, strategic multitaskers with a love for logistics and thriving in a dynamic start-up environment.

What you'll do

  • Support and work closely with VP of Corporate and Compliance, VP of Commercial Legal, Sr. Director of Sustainability, and Sr. Director, Chief of Staff to the CLO & Head of Corporate Affairs.
  • Manage complex, high-volume calendars across multiple time zones and travel schedules proactively.
  • Make recommendations to executives regarding time management, prioritization, delegation, and organization.
  • Coordinate extensive domestic and international travel, including transportation, hotel reservations, security, visas, and travel documentation. Accompany executives as needed.
  • Plan events such as team off-sites, team-building activities, and company kick-offs.
  • Assist with the full lifecycle of recruiting, including scheduling interviews, liaising with candidates, and onboarding new hires.
  • Compile receipts and submit timely, accurate expense reports monthly.
  • Provide coverage for other EBAs as needed.
  • Lead and run special projects upon request.
  • Work flexible hours to support international meetings; some travel may be required.
  • Perform other duties supporting the business (ad hoc tasks).
  • Contribute to the broader EBA community by sharing learnings and resources.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
  • Self-starter with the ability to operate independently and multitask efficiently; detail-oriented and creative problem solver.
  • Technical proficiency with Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack, Navan, and related tools.
  • Leadership mindset and ability to influence culture/environment.
  • Experience with event planning and coordination for large meetings and company events.
  • Goal-oriented planner with strong prioritization skills.
  • Effective communicator across channels and organizational levels.
  • Ability to quickly adopt new technical tools.
  • Experience in a start-up environment and remote work preferred.
  • Passion for GitLab and ability to learn and use GitLab tools.

The salary range varies based on location and experience, currently $75,600 - $162,000 USD for residents of certain states. Compensation is determined through interviews and review of qualifications. Additional benefits and equity are available. See more on our benefits and equity policies.

Pay ranges for specific states include California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Jersey, New York, Washington, D.C., Illinois, and Minnesota.
