Program Overview

The Community Programs Unit (CPU) integrates employment services, workforce development, settlement and language services, financial empowerment services, and volunteer & mentorship programs to provide a holistic and seamless service experience. This integrated approach is designed to effectively address the complexities inhibiting employment, settlement, and financial well-being outcomes for our clients.

Reporting to the VP, Community Programs, the Manager, Research & Knowledge Mobilization / Executive Assistant plays a dual role in supporting the Community Programs Unit. The position is responsible for leading research initiatives, synthesizing data, and mobilizing knowledge to inform policy and program decisions in the unit. Additionally, this role provides high-level administrative and executive support to the Vice President, Community Programs, ensuring efficient operations and coordination across the unit.

What You Will Do

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Vice President, Community Programs, including expense processing and tracking, meeting coordination, and correspondence.
  • Prepare reports, briefing notes, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Vice President , Community Program to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, policymakers, and community partners.
  • Manage document tracking, filing systems, and data management to support operational efficiency.
  • Lead research initiatives to identify emerging trends, best practices, and policy changes relevant to community programs.
  • Analyze data and create reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Develop knowledge-sharing materials, including reports, presentations, and policy briefs.
  • Support the Vice President, Community Programs to foster partnerships with academic institutions, think tanks, and community organizations to enhance research capacity.
  • Organize and facilitate knowledge-sharing events, workshops, and forums.
  • Support teams to develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure program effectiveness.
  • Support teams to analyze program data and create impact reports to support continuous improvement.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external inquiries, ensuring efficient communication flow.
  • Support the planning and execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Provide social media support, including content development and engagement strategies for the Community Programs Unit.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support community programs.
  • To support the team with writing compelling grant proposals and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Represent the Community Programs Unit in relevant meetings, workshops, and external events.
  • Collaborate with external networks to advance shared goals and strengthen community impact.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • This position requires 5 years of management experience in a related field.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities.
