Job Opportunity: Executive Assistant and Digital Editor

Organization: Endangered Ecosystems Alliance

Location: Anywhere in Canada (working remotely), some travel required, flexible schedule

Work schedule: 4 days (32 hours)/week, starting from $5000 to $5400/month

The Endangered Ecosystems Alliance (EEA) is a non-profit conservation charity working for the science-based protection of Canada’s native ecosystems, from old-growth rainforests to grasslands, from southern deciduous forests to northern conifer forests.

The EEA is looking for a highly motivated person with exceptional writing skills, attention to detail, strong digital (image and video) skills, and a passion for nature conservation. Working directly with the Executive Director and at times the Administration and Operations Coordinator, the Executive Assistant and Digital Editor will draft diverse and extensive written campaign materials, help produce videos and digital images for educational purposes, organize logistics for all manner of campaign activities, help ensure effective operations, fundraising and administration of the organization, and engage with team members and diverse parties outside the organization.

We are looking for a person who can work well both under direction and independently, is versatile and sharp, communicates well, and excels at understanding and working with complex issues. The ideal candidate must have a demonstrated commitment to nature and an understanding of conservation issues.

Responsibilities

  • Draft diverse campaign, development, and operations materials (key correspondences, funding grant applications, press releases, social media posts, calls to action, etc.)
  • Distribute campaign-related materials (via newsletter, webpage, social media, etc.)
  • Help film, produce and edit videos and digital images for educational purposes
  • Undertake important research
  • Support the Administrative and Operations Coordinator in all manner of tasks, including using and troubleshooting software issues, undertaking regular fundraising and the servicing of supporters, and assisting with all manner of database, accounting and administrative duties
  • Coordinate and correspond with key collaborators and partners
  • Support and attend meetings with governments (including First Nations) and diverse stakeholders and parties
  • Coordinate logistics for events, hikes, rallies, etc.
  • Deliver presentations when needed to key individuals or groups
  • General campaign, fundraising, operations and administrative support
  • Assist with logistics in the field when visiting forests, grasslands, wetlands and other ecosystems
