Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Child and Family Services prepare annual reports, news releases and communication notices.
  • Liaise with the Director of Child and Family Services to develop meeting agendas, prepare reports and obtain material for Chief Executive Officer, Chief and Council and Government Agencies
  • Coordinate and organize meetings, schedule and document dates of meetings and record notes during meetings and circulate meeting minutes once approved
  • Prepare and maintain a task list for the Director of Child and Family Services
  • Maintain an effective filing system for the Director of Child and Family Services
  • Ensure confidentiality and safekeeping of all program documents and records
  • Comply with Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory human resource, finance and other policies and procedures
  • Assist the Director of Child and Family Services with the corrdination of the annual review of the governance and operational policies and procedures of the Child and Family Services department
  • Always maintain a positive and professional image of the Child and Family Services executive office.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five (5) years experience in an administrative or executive role, preferably in the social services sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of and sensitivity to the Anishinaabe culture, with experience integrating cultural practices into service delivery.
  • Knowledge of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory’s programs and services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advocate for community needs.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently record and develop meeting minutes.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
