Job summary

GBA DEMOLITION & EXCAVATING LTD. in Surrey, BC is seeking an Excavation labourer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will load, unload, and transport construction materials and read blueprints to determine work requirements.

The role requires outdoor, physically demanding work, with early morning to evening shifts including weekends. You must have your own transportation and be able to work at heights, in dusty environments, and collaborate with crew to complete projects

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Fluency in English.
• 7 months to 1 year of related experience.
• Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and transport construction materials.
• Read blueprints to determine work requirements.
• Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
• Mix, pour, and spread concrete and asphalt.
• Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction.
• Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites.
• Frame houses, erect walls, and build roofs.
• Level earth to fine grade specifications.
• Pave and rake asphalt.
• Assist in building demolition and cleaning salvage materials.
• Clean up chemical spills and contaminants and remove debris.
• Tend to or feed construction machines and equipment.
• Direct traffic at or near construction sites.

The applicant should be a self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be required to commence work at the earliest opportunity. It will be a Permanent employment or Full time job. The candidate must be available to work early morning, morning, day, evening, and weekend shifts, and must be willing to work shift schedules.
