Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre seeks an Environmental Services Aide to perform general housekeeping tasks in patient areas, hallways, kitchens and offices in Barrie, Ontario. Qualifications

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
• Experience in a housekeeping department is an asset.
• Ability to use tools and equipment including: vacuum, dry mop, auto scrubber, polisher.
• Able to meet the physical demands of the job including standing, sweeping, pushing/pulling carts, lifting up to 15 kg.
• WHMIS knowledge, chemicals and dilution rates.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation.
• Familiar with handling different types of wastes throughout the health centre.
• Compliance with Body Substance Precaution provisions.
• Compliance with sanitary and infection control requirements.
• Compliance with confidentiality requirements under RVH Privacy Policy.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain patient rooms, hallways, kitchens, bathrooms, offices, etc.
• Remove recyclables and garbage from multiple locations.
• Perform floor care and move furniture as required.
• Clean, disinfect and maintain Operating Rooms according to OR standards.
• Clean elevators and stairs and assist with other housekeeping duties.
