Events Specialist & Events Coordinator (2 Positions)

The Roles:
We are recruiting for two exciting roles on our Events team! In these positions, you will have the opportunity to work on an innovative suite of spectacular fundraising events across Ontario, from Fashion on Fire and All-In for Arthritis to our dazzling Arthritis Fire Ball.
- As Events Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping our events through close collaboration with the Director, Signature Events to map out the unique look and feel of each fundraising event for maximum impact.
- As Events Coordinator, you will bring excellence to your work through your passion for events logistics, and through collaboration with the Director, Signature Events and Events Specialist you will grow your career to the next level!
Key Accountabilities:
Events Specialist
- Work alongside Director, Signature Events to plan, coordinate and execute the Ontario region’s fundraising events, with a primary focus on our signature events: Fashion on Fire, Fire Ball and All-In for Arthritis.
- Act as volunteer lead for and at all events.
- Manage and solicit gifts in kind, gift bag items, silent auction and live auction, general event swag, etc.
- Work on soliciting new third-party events, while maintaining and stewarding existing third-party event relationships to grow the portfolio year-over-year.
- Organize and attend all event committee meetings to support Chairs and Director, Signature Events.
Events Coordinator
- Work alongside Events Specialist and Director, Signature Events to support the execution of our fundraising events.
- Support volunteers at all events, providing coverage for any gaps.
- Handle all event committee meetings logistics, e.g. bookings, catering, audio visual, meeting materials and reminders.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Progressive experience in high quality Events execution and fundraising from a busy, fast-paced and Events-focused environment. For the Events Specialist role, this will be 3-5 years’ experience; and for the Events Coordinator role, this will be 1-3 years’.
- Driven, energetic, self-motivated, results-oriented, detail oriented, creative and passionate.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative style with local and nationwide colleagues and stakeholders, both in-person and remotely.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver excellent, timely customer service.
- Exceptional written, oral and persuasive presentation skills. Bilingual (English and French) language skills an asset.
- Strong level of comfort and experience with donor databases (Raiser’s Edge experience preferred) and Microsoft Office. Experience with Givergy or other silent auction related platforms. A Canva superuser.
Working Conditions:
These positions are designated to our Toronto office in a hybrid model. This means you will work at least 2 days a week from our Toronto office and the rest of the days remotely/from home. The exact days you are required to work from our office will be determined by your supervisor.
