Job description

Heads up! This role is based 100% in-person from our office in sunny Brisbane, Australia.

About Askable

Hey, we’re Askable - the world’s most loved user research platform. Loved by whom you ask? Woolies, Qantas, Canva, BUPA, CommBank, NAB, Telstra, BBC, Mastercard and hundreds more. Not bad right?

Askable has been changing the game in research and insights since 2017. Although we spent our first five years living the bootstrapped life, we’ve recently secured a significant venture capital round to, well, scale up.

Headquartered in Brisbane, and with operations now spanning Australia, the UK, and the US, we’re looking to bring on the right people to help us get to the next level.

––––––––––––––––––––

About the role

We’re on the lookout for an Events Manager who lives and breathes experiences—someone who understands that events aren’t just about logistics, they’re a key driver of growth, connection, and brand magic. At Askable, our events are anything but traditional. You’ll craft unexpected, unforgettable moments that engage Australia’s largest enterprises and most creative product and UX leaders.

This role blends community building and marketing know-how: you’ll design experiences that fuel acquisition, deepen engagement, and spark retention. Working closely with sales, you’ll ensure every event contributes meaningfully to pipeline while also nurturing a vibrant, active community around Askable.

––––––––––––––––––––

What you’ll do

  • Design and execute an events strategy that supports both acquisition and expansion in the enterprise space—delivering memorable, non-traditional experiences that reflect the Askable brand.
  • Partner with the sales team to align on pipeline goals and build events that accelerate deal flow and connect with key decision-makers.
  • Identify and nurture Askable ambassadors within the UX and product community, enabling them to run branded community events and become advocates for our platform.
  • Keep the Askable community engaged between events through creative touchpoints and ongoing relationship building.
  • Lead end-to-end execution of both in-person and virtual events—from intimate dinners and roundtables to larger-scale activations—with an eye for detail and experience design.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with like-minded brands and collaborators to expand reach and co-create standout experiences.
  • Set up scalable systems and repeatable processes for event planning, execution, and follow-up, without sacrificing quality or creativity.
  • Measure event success through clear metrics like engagement, pipeline impact, and brand reach—iterating and improving with every activation.
  • Work closely with the marketing and design teams to ensure all events are aligned with brand, campaign, and community goals.

––––––––––––––––––––

Skills and experience you’ll bring

To hit the ground running in this role you’ll need at least 3 years working in events with:

  • A marketing-first mindset with a deep understanding of the role events play across the funnel—from acquisition to retention.
  • Proven experience designing events that go beyond the typical conference or webinar—creative, brand-led activations that people actually talk about.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to partner cross-functionally with sales, marketing, design, and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify and nurture key community voices—turning attendees into advocates and ambassadors.
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented, with a knack for building scalable systems that keep things running smoothly as we grow.
  • Confident communicator with excellent project management and relationship-building skills.
  • Bonus: You love getting involved in the UX or product community and have a flair for building personal or brand presence online (strong LinkedIn game)

––––––––––––––––––––

The mindset you’ll need

  • Winning with your team: You’ll be proud of the individual work you do, but find winning as team ultimately more fulfilling. This includes having the emotional maturity to give and receive constructive feedback to better the team as a whole.
  • Independence and curiosity: You won’t find cabinets full of step by step instructions at Askable. You’ll need to think on your feet, manage your own workflow, problem-solve roadblocks, proactively ask questions, and take responsibility for the goals you set.
  • Growth focussed: You’ll enjoy the idea of a stretch goal and always be looking for opportunities to improve yourself, your team, and the business.
  • Quick to learn: You’ll bring an ability to quickly learn and understand our product solutions and features, and keep up to date as our offerings evolve.

––––––––––––––––––––

Our culture

Our culture drives everything we do. We live it, breathe it, and work every day to make Askable a place where people can thrive.

We believe work should be fulfilling, exciting, and meaningful.

Here, you’re not just part of a team. You’re part of a community that cares about what they’re building and how they’re building it.

In fact, we take culture so seriously that we wrote a book on it. Our Culture Book guides what we stand for, how we work, and the values that unite us—because nothing beats winning with a team you genuinely love working with.
