The Events Coordinator, TMX Market Centre is primarily responsible for the logistical and operational execution of events within the TMX Market Centre.

This role ensures the seamless planning and implementation of various internal and external events, including conferences, employee meetings, market opens, and other initiatives. This position will handle all aspects of event logistics, from setup to breakdown, ensuring a flawless experience for all participants.

This position may require working non-traditional hours to accommodate client needs. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as start time and length of shifts may vary.

Reporting to: Senior Manager, Global Client Team & Market Centre

Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversee on-site setup and supervision of all internal and external client events, ensuring a flawless experience

  • Coordinate with internal and external clients to gather detailed event information and operational requirements

  • Manage external relationships, including our various vendors and service providersto ensure timely and efficient service delivery

  • Determine and manage event support staffing requirements, ensuring adequate resources are available for each event

  • Engage and coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure all operational aspects of events are covered

  • Manage the delivery of all event-related services, ensuring quality and efficiency

  • Handle payment processing, invoice requests, and tracking, working closely with finance

  • Conduct post-event operational debriefings and analyze logistical processes for improvement

  • Assist the TMX Group’s enterprise event team with logistical planning and execution of various events

Must Haves:

  • Post-secondary education in Event Management or Public Relations preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in event coordination and client management

  • Strong understanding of event management practices

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Professional and polished demeanor

  • Ability to work independently within a team environment

  • Keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize time appropriately

  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multi-task with competing deadlines

  • Strong computer skills in Windows XP, Microsoft Office and Google

  • Must be able to lift and transport moderately heavy items on occasion, related to event setup

Nice to Haves:

  • Previous event experience in the financial services industry an asset
