About The Canadian Hard of Hearing Association-Edmonton Branch:

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those with hearing loss by increasing awareness and breaking down the barriers and providing support, programs and advocacy

Position Overview: CHHA-Edmonton is looking for a dynamic and motivated Events & Development Manager to oversee and manage our fundraising activities and Grant applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating events, achieving fundraising targets, managing sponsorships, coordinating volunteers, and driving community engagement initiatives. Must be out-going, extremely well organized and proficient on social media and content creation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Event Management:
  • Plan, organize, and execute CHHA-Edmonton fundraising events
  • Coordinate logistics, secure venues, and manage event budgets to ensure profitable and successful outcomes.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote events and maximize attendance and sponsorship.
  1. Fundraising & Sponsorship:
  • Support fundraising targets by identifying, cultivating, and securing sponsorships and donations.
  • Identify and cultivate potential donors, including individual donors, corporations, government and foundations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with corporate partners, sponsors, and donors.
  • Create and manage fundraising campaigns, including third-party initiatives and corporate events.
  1. Volunteer Management:
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for events and community engagement activities.
  • Ensure a positive and rewarding experience for volunteers, fostering long-term commitment and support.
  1. Community Engagement:
  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies to increase awareness of CHHA-Ed
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers and other stakeholders
  • Organize and participate in community outreach activities.

Grant Writing:

  • Research, identify, and apply for grants, including those offered by all levels of government, foundations, corporations, unions, service organizations and other funding agencies.
  • Write compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate our mission and impact.
  • Manage the grant application and reporting process.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-years of experience in event management, fundraising, marketing or fund development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Fundraising, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, or a related field will be considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for making a difference in the lives of those with hearing loss.

  • Related degree or diploma
  • Understanding of Hearing Loss
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Professional, friendly and enthusiastic

Compensation: This is a performance-based role including base salary and performance incentives based on the achievement of fundraising and event success metrics. (Based on a 30 hour work week)
