Overview

Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a talented, customer service oriented and dedicated Events Services Server to join our Banquet team.

Events Services Server is responsible for the entire set-up, serving and clearing of Banquet rooms, serving the guest and providing excellent customer service. This person must have good communication skills as well as the ability to lift, pull and push moderate weight. This is a fast-paced position with continual customer contact. Other duties include general events preparation and maintaining a sanitary environment (Event service station setups, stock replenishment, equipment organization and cleaning).

Responsibilities
  • Set up, serve, and clear Banquet rooms; provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain sanitary event service stations; stock replenishment; equipment organization and cleaning.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Support flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
  • Must have a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Previous food and beverage experience in events is an asset.
  • Food Safe Level 1 and Serving It Right certificates.
  • Able to work various shifts (AM, MID or PM) including weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent teamwork and ability to work with a diverse group of individuals and guests.
  • Ability to engage customers professionally, prioritize, and multitask.
  • Refined verbal communication skills.

Compensation

Starting wage for this position is $18.52 per hour. After 6 months, wage is $21.60 per hour; after 1 year, wage is $24.69 per hour.

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel cannot assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
