Position Title: Event Security Officer / Part-time

Department: Security

Reports To: Security Department Manager

Classification: Part-time, Non-Exempt

Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Incentives: Non-guard card applicants will receive $150 reimbursement after 30 shifts with no disciplinary or attendance issues. Current guard card holders will receive $30 towards renewal after 30 events with no disciplinary or attendance issues.

Position Summary: Responsible for overseeing the safety and security of Toyota Arena and Ontario Convention Center patrons, employees, and assets.

Essential Functions:

1. Maintain 24-hour security of the interior and exterior of the building.
2. Conduct regular patrols of the premises.
3. Respond promptly and professionally to all safety & security calls.
4. Interact courteously with patrons, vendors, and employees.
5. Perform bag searches, wanding, and monitor metal detectors at entry points.
6. Complete assigned tasks within guidelines and deadlines.
7. Adhere to performance, conduct, and attendance standards.
8. Follow all legal and ethical instructions from the Security Manager.
9. Maintain proper dress code and exhibit professional conduct and appearance on duty.
10. Investigate incidents and compile accurate reports.

Experience / Training / Education: None required.

License / Certificate: California Issued Guard Card

Knowledge / Abilities / Skills:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

5. Exemplary representation of the Security Department.
6. Good relations with staff and management.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

1. Stand and walk for long periods on hard surfaces.
2. Climb stairs as needed.
3. Work in changing temperatures indoors and outdoors.

Availability for 80% of events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts may extend until 11:00 PM - 12:00 AM. Flexibility required.
