Event Planner, Diya Decor Ltd.

Location: Etobicoke, ON
Salary: 30.50 hourly / 37.5 hours per week
Type: Full-time
Schedule: Day, Morning
Start Date: As soon as possible

Education: College/CEGEP
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
Work Location: Physical location only (no remote work)

Responsibilities:
  1. Administer revenues and expenditures.
  2. Assist in preparing financial reports.
  3. Develop risk management plans.
  4. Promote conference and meeting services or special events.
  5. Develop and monitor emergency security plans.
  6. Inspect and select sites.
  7. Develop marketing and communication plans.
  8. Develop media strategies and public relations activities.
  9. Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers.
  10. Prepare, present, and manage budgets.
  11. Develop financial procedures.
  12. Develop sponsorship, partnership, or fundraising programs.
  13. Solicit event donors.
  14. Review bids and negotiate costs.
  15. Arrange for production or purchase of promotional products.
  16. Arrange for shipping, receiving, and storage.
  17. Assist in budget preparation.
  18. Co-ordinate and monitor conference and meeting activities and attend to related details.
  19. Co-ordinate media services.
  20. Co-ordinate set-ups, staging, seating, parking, communication systems, and other details for special events.
  21. Implement social programs, food and beverage, transportation, and other services.
  22. Set up and monitor, or arrange for the setting up and monitoring of multi-media equipment.
  23. Plan schedules, goals, and objectives.
  24. Plan for required documentation and for pre- and post-distribution of documentation (itineraries, evaluations, etc.).
  25. Research and design special events programs.
  26. Plan for VIP arrangements.
  27. Plan for translation and interpretation services.
  28. Plan for social events and guest programs.
  29. Develop policies and procedures and attend to other management responsibilities.
  30. Manage event logistics.
  31. Plan and oversee webinars.
  32. Develop and implement business plans.
  33. Supervise the office and volunteer staff.
