DELIVERY TRUCK DRIVER positions involve the transportation of event decor, props, and furniture to and from venues in Vancouver, Whistler, and around the province. The selected candidates will also be responsible for

assisting with event set-ups and strikes as needed, including the safe repackaging of Spectra Event Group inventory.

RATE OF PAY: $30 - 35 per hour

4-hour minimum pay guarantee per shift

Shifts will vary, including evenings and weekends

The role may lead to a permanent or further part-time position, with growth opportunities

No contractors - Delivery Truck Drivers are hired as hourly employees

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Arrive on time, prepared to begin work
• Drive both 3-ton and 5-ton trucks in Vancouver, Whistler, and around the Province
• Sub-rental pickups and returns
• Conduct pre-trip inspections, noting any problems or damages to the truck
• Unload and load trucks of boxes, bins, objects, and furniture
• Coordinate load-ins and load-outs at venues in a safe and efficient manner
• Assist in event set-ups as needed including, but not limited to, assembly of event decor and pipe and drape equipment
• Assist in event strikes as needed including, but not limited to, repacking event decor
• Take direction from the Event Lead and assist Event Crew

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

• Must be 25 years of age or older, as required by company insurance
• Possess a clean, valid “Class 5” BC Driver’s License
• Proven work experience as a Delivery Driver
• Ability to manage weight distribution and effective tie-strap usage
• Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
• Travel up and down stairs unassisted, sometimes carrying objects
• Push, pull, and otherwise move large, heavy items with the use of moving equipment
• Stand for long periods
• Move-in awkward, small, or restricted spaces
• Have adequate transportation to and from Spectra Event Group warehouse sometimes late at night when public transportation is unavailable

ASSETS

• Geographic knowledge of the lower mainland and major venues
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
