Position Overview

A Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of basic/small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment, ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.

Key Job Responsibilities

Equipment Operation

  • Ensures flawless event execution through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications.

Customer Service

  • Exceeds expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Maintains positive relationships with clients through effective communication.
  • Meets with guests onsite to ensure their needs are met and equipment functions properly.
  • Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day.
  • Fosters hotel or client relationships.

Technical Ability

  • Understands technical aspects and demonstrates basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Handles equipment challenges professionally and promptly.
  • Follows all safety requirements and protocols.

Systems Knowledge

  • Follows company processes, completes paperwork accurately.
  • Uses equipment sheets for setup and strike, interacts with staff and vendors.
  • Utilizes up-selling techniques to increase revenue.
  • Works with clients on invoices.
  • Completes order entries and manages equipment logistics.
