Job summary

Stella-Jones is seeking a Production Supervisor to deliver production plans while upholding quality, timelines, and budgets. You will support team leads, mobilize resources, and drive continuous improvement in your area, with health and safety as the top priority.

The role requires coordinating daily planning, assigning shifts, managing vacation requests, and leading a unionized team. Strong leadership, analytical skills, and knowledge of SAP/Dayforce are preferred, plus bilingual English/French

Qualifications

• DEC or bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, operations management, project management, or related fields.
• 3–5 years supervising personnel in a unionized environment.
• Experience in the steel industry is a major asset.
• Strong analytical, initiative, responsibility, teamwork, and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership, positive attitude, good listening, and sound judgment.
• Ability to work under pressure and high stress tolerance.
• Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Review daily production KPIs and discuss results with team leads.
• Analyze KPI trends to guide problem-solving and improvement activities.
• Monitor progress against weekly/monthly production estimates.
• Plan workforce needs and coordinate vacations with HR and other departments.
• Ensure proper start-up and information transfer between shifts.
• Approve overtime and hours for payroll.
• Lead onboarding and training, apply disciplinary measures per collective agreement.
