JOB DESCRIPTION
The Organizational Setting

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations and the global forum through which its 193 Member States cooperate on international civil aviation. Guided by its vision of achieving the sustainable growth of the global civil aviation system, ICAO develops policies and international Standards, undertakes compliance audits, conducts studies and analyses, provides support, and strengthens aviation capacity in cooperation with Member States and other stakeholders. Since its establishment in 1944 under the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention), ICAO’s technical and diplomatic leadership has supported the development of a safe, secure, efficient and dependable global air transport network that connects people, cultures and businesses, advances socio-economic prosperity, and contributes to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
