Who We Are:

The Edmonton Community Legal Centre is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to personal and community wellbeing by providing innovative legal services.

Our community is Edmonton and all of Northern Alberta, and the people we serve are our fellow Albertans, who need help to resolve their everyday legal problems.

What You'll Do:

The Evaluation and Impact Specialist is new position which will have a key role in advancing our vision, mission, and values. You will exemplify leadership by supporting change processes, advancing strategies, illustrating service impact, and demonstrating curiosity and an eagerness to learn.

You will work with a staff team of 35 including lawyers, social workers, legal assistants, and client support professionals, and a volunteer team of 200, including 150 volunteer lawyers, along with students and community volunteers from a variety of disciplines.

Responsibilities may include research to support legal services delivery and evaluation, development of evaluation frameworks, supporting the implementation of data collection activities, coordinating reporting functions, writing grant applications, and tracking progress against operational plans.

  • Lead: Model a culture of collaboration and innovation, contributing to a team atmosphere that motivates staff to create, experiment, and learn within the context of providing excellent legal services.
  • Funder Relationships: Monitor compliance with funding agreements and achievement of service goals.
  • Program and Process Evaluation: Manage our client and stakeholder outcomes evaluation processes, ensuring positive impacts for the people we serve.

What We're Looking For:

  • Evaluation Skills: Demonstrated experience in implementation and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative evaluation research methods.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead the development, implementation, and coordination of multiple projects.
  • Communication Skills: Persuasive and articulate written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Qualifications: A relevant Bachelor's Degree, with five or more years of experience developing and implementing evaluation frameworks in a not-for-profit environment.
