Job summary

Primeline in the Greater Toronto Area is seeking an Estimator to support project acquisition and delivery for windows, doors, and aluminum systems. You review drawings, specs, and scope documents to determine material, labour, and equipment needs, ensuring bids stay competitive without sacrificing margin.

You will collaborate with engineering, production, and project management to confirm estimates reflect real manufacturing capability and installation methods.

Qualifications

• Experience with cost estimation for fabrication and field installation.
• Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with estimating software and digital take-off tools.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and tender documents to understand project scope.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for fabrication and field installation.
• Perform material and labour take-offs for aluminum framing and glazing.
• Coordinate with suppliers on pricing, lead times, and availability.
• Work with engineering and production to ensure estimates match capabilities.
• Develop field installation cost estimates based on site conditions.
• Identify scope gaps and risks early in the estimating process.
• Prepare complete bid submissions with cost breakdowns and docs.
• Support pre-construction and handover meetings to align estimating and execution.
• Maintain records of estimates, pricing history and quotes.
