Job summary

AWC Water Solutions Ltd. is seeking an experienced Intermediate Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates and budgetary pricing for water and wastewater treatment projects and other specialized industrial packaged solutions.

The role involves independent management of estimates, collaboration with sales and engineering teams, reviewing P&ID drawings, and maintaining an estimating database to support competitive project pricing.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of estimating experience in manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, construction, or water/wastewater environments.
• Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction, Business, or related technical discipline.
• Reading and interpreting P&ID drawings, process drawings, and design drawings.
• Independently develop accurate cost estimates for standard to moderately complex projects.
• Strong understanding of material, labour, subcontractor, vendor, fabrication, and equipment costs.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed and comprehensive cost estimates and budgetary pricing for standard and moderately complex bid projects.
• Independently manage assigned estimates from initial review through completion and handover.
• Collaborate with the sales team and applications engineers to define project requirements, scope, assumptions, exclusions, and estimating strategies.
• Review client bid packages, project specifications, P&IDs, process drawings, design drawings, and other technical documentation to identify requirements, risks, and cost impacts.
• Prepare material, labour, subcontractor, equipment, fabrication, machining, controls, and other project cost estimates as applicable.
• Solicit, analyze, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations to improve overall pricing.
• Maintain and contribute to the accuracy of the estimating database and supplier pricing.
