Large infrastructure contractor is seeking an intermediate and senior Estimator with experience across infrastructure projects (transportation, water, heavy civil) to join its leading team in various locations including Vancouver BC, Calgary AB, and Toronto ON. Salary range $90,000 – $170,000 depending on experience. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role.

Description of Estimator

Our client is currently looking for Estimators to join their bid team. This position’s primary function is to procure jobs/projects as assigned or directed by the Bid Manager. Responsibilities include meeting with clients, conducting site reviews, reviewing all relevant information, preparing quantities and estimates, and executing contract negotiations. The Estimator role is project-driven, fast-paced, and demanding at times. The department values teamwork to meet deadlines and secure clients.

Responsibilities of Estimator

• Complete assignments from Bid Manager
• Conduct site visits
• Gather and review relevant information such as drawings and geotechnical reports
• Prepare detailed, well-organized bids following proper construction sequences
• Meet bid closing deadlines
• Negotiate and execute contracts with clients
• Stay aware of market conditions to maximize markup and win contracts
• Liaise between Superintendent and Client Representative
• Monitor ongoing work and handle administrative duties like change orders and invoicing
• Compare bid estimates to actual job results
• Work effectively and efficiently without direct supervision, contributing as a motivated team member
