Park Paving Ltd. is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join our Edmonton team.

The role requires understanding how civil construction work is built, production drivers, risk, and how estimating decisions influence project execution. This full-time position offers exposure to municipal infrastructure, earthworks, paving, underground and surface works, and development projects, with collaboration across estimating, operations, and project management teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of civil construction estimating experience.
• Strong understanding of civil construction methods, sequencing, and production.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Alberta civil construction experience is a plus; Civil Engineer or CET asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Review drawings, specs, contracts, and tender documents.
• Develop labour, equipment, materials, and production assumptions.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and opportunities.
• Support bid strategy and tender preparation.
• Coordinate with Operations and Project Management for field alignment.
• Assist project turnover from estimating to construction.

Job description

Park Paving Ltd. is looking for an experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join our Edmonton team.

We are looking for more than someone who can prepare a bid.

The right candidate will understand how civil construction work is built, what drives production, where risk exists, and how strong estimating decisions contribute to successful project execution.

This is an opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of civil construction projects while collaborating closely with experienced estimating, operations, and project management teams.

This is a Full-Time Permanent Position.

The Role

The Estimator will support opportunities across:

• Municipal infrastructure and roadway construction
• Earthworks and site development
• Asphalt paving and concrete
• Underground and surface works
• Commercial, industrial, and land development projects

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents
• Developing labour, equipment, material, and production assumptions
• Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Identifying scope gaps, constructability issues, risks, and opportunities
• Supporting bid strategy and tender preparation
• Working closely with Operations and Project Management to align estimating assumptions with field execution
• Supporting project turnover from estimating into construction

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of civil construction estimating experience
• Strong understanding of civil construction methods, sequencing, and production
• Strong knowledge of labour, equipment, materials, and productivity
• Experience preparing quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimates
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and tender requirements
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines
• Sound commercial judgment and strong attention to detail
• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office
• Alberta civil construction experience is considered a strong asset
• Civil Engineer or C.E.T. an asset
