Sky Group of Companies in the Greater Toronto Area is seeking a Construction/Renovation Estimator to support the Senior Estimator in preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for multi-residential and commercial projects.

This role involves analyzing drawings, conducting site visits, soliciting bids, and ensuring estimates align with project goals and codes, with a focus on quality and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience as a construction estimator, ideally on multi-residential or commercial projects.
• Authorization to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates of labor, materials, equipment and overhead.
• Analyze architectural drawings, blueprints and specifications to develop accurate estimates.
• Conduct site visits to verify measurements and scope.
• Solicit bids from suppliers and subcontractors; evaluate proposals and assist in pricing.
• Support budget preparation and ensure estimates meet project financial goals.
• Maintain clear communications with clients, architects and engineers throughout the project.

About the Role

Are you a detail-oriented, dedicated professional looking to advance your career in the construction and restoration industry? Sky Contracting Inc., part of the Sky Group of Companies, is seeking a Construction/Renovation Estimator to support the Senior Estimator in preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for multi-residential and commercial projects. This strategic role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, client-focused projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimate Development: Collaborate with the Senior Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and project overheads.

Technical Analysis: Analyze architectural drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to develop accurate and comprehensive estimates.

Site Evaluations: Conduct site visits to assess project scope, verify measurements, and collect vital data.

Supplier & Subcontractor Engagement: Solicit bids from suppliers and subcontractors, evaluate proposals, and assist in securing optimal pricing.

Budget & Cost Management: Contribute to budget preparation, ensuring all estimates meet project financial goals.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain open and professional communication with clients, architects, engineers, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any project changes.

Data & Document Management: Maintain an organized repository of cost estimates, historical data, and project-related documentation to drive continuous improvement in accuracy.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all estimates align with building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Education: Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Demonstrated experience in a construction estimator role, ideally in multi-residential or commercial projects.

Legal Requirementss: Authorization to work in Canada.

Skills:

Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of construction materials, techniques, and processes.

Software Proficien
cy: Advanced skills in construction estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
