Are you a detail-oriented, dedicated professional looking to advance your career in the construction and restoration industry? Sky Contracting Inc., part of the Sky Group of Companies, is seeking a Construction/Renovation Estimator to support the Senior Estimator in preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for multi-residential and commercial projects. This strategic role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, client-focused projects.
Estimate Development: Collaborate with the Senior Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and project overheads.
Technical Analysis: Analyze architectural drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to develop accurate and comprehensive estimates.
Site Evaluations: Conduct site visits to assess project scope, verify measurements, and collect vital data.
Supplier & Subcontractor Engagement: Solicit bids from suppliers and subcontractors, evaluate proposals, and assist in securing optimal pricing.
Budget & Cost Management: Contribute to budget preparation, ensuring all estimates meet project financial goals.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain open and professional communication with clients, architects, engineers, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any project changes.
Data & Document Management: Maintain an organized repository of cost estimates, historical data, and project-related documentation to drive continuous improvement in accuracy.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all estimates align with building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Education: Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Demonstrated experience in a construction estimator role, ideally in multi-residential or commercial projects.
Legal Requirementss: Authorization to work in Canada.
Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of construction materials, techniques, and processes.
Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in construction estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous accuracy in preparing estimates and evaluating project requirements.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving capabilities with a pragmatic, data-driven approach
Communication Excellence: Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders.
