Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating restoration and construction projects, including building envelope, structural rehabilitation, and exterior restoration.
• Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for data analysis, documentation, and reporting.
• Solid understanding of construction techniques, materials, and trade pricing related to masonry, waterproofing, structural repair, and general contracting.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with project managers, site teams, suppliers, and clients.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities with attention to detail to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Role Description The Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON. This position is responsible for reviewing project drawings, specifications, and site conditions to prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for restoration and construction projects. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing subcontractor and supplier quotes, preparing bid proposals, assisting with budgeting and cost control, and updating estimates as project details evolve. The Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and the leadership team to ensure pricing aligns with project scope, timelines, and quality expectations. The role also involves maintaining estimating tools and databases, participating in tender submissions, and supporting continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in construction estimating, including quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and bid preparation for building envelope, structural rehabilitation, and exterior restoration projects.
• Proficiency with estimating software and tools, as well as MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for data analysis, documentation, and reporting.
• Solid understanding of construction techniques, materials, and trade pricing related to masonry, waterproofing, structural repair, and general contracting.

• Knowledge of local building codes, safety standards, and industry best practices in the Toronto and Greater Toronto Area markets.
