We are seeking an Estimating Student for our Winnipeg District within our Canadian Buildings Division that is available for 4 months or 6 months depending on your schools coop term length starting in May 2025.

As an Estimating Student and depending on your assigned project you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by :

Responsibilities

• Understanding and utilizing PCLs estimating manuals systems and forms
• Reviewing quantity survey assignment with lead estimator or Chief Estimator
• Performing assigned quantity survey
• Giving quantities of major purchase items to purchasing department for pricing
• Transferring quantities to lead estimator
• Bid document control
• Performing bid day assignments
• Visiting job sites periodically
• Developing relationships with subcontractors
• Other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator

Qualifications

What you will bring to the role :

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required including word processing spreadsheet applications and drafting.
