We are seeking an Estimating Student for our Solar District that is available for 4 months or 8 months starting September 2025.

As an Estimating Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

Responsibilities

1. Understand and utilize PCL’s estimating manuals, systems, and forms.
2. Review quantity survey assignments with lead estimator or Chief Estimator.
3. Perform assigned quantity surveys.
4. Provide quantities of major purchase items to the purchasing department for pricing.
5. Transfer quantities to the lead estimator.
6. Perform general subtrade solicitation duties.
7. Manage bid document control.
8. Participate in bid day assignments.
9. Develop relationships with subcontractors.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment; prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Proficiency with computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, and drafting programs is required.
