Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of insolvency experience; professional services experience considered.
  • Willingness to work towards a CIRP designation is an asset.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist with planning and delivery of consumer insolvency services.
  2. Assist with data analysis and review of financial records.
  3. Assist with administering formal insolvency appointments, including bankruptcies and proposals.
  4. Develop relationships with current and potential referral sources such as credit counsellors, debt counsellors, lawyers, and accountants.
  5. Prepare and review relevant BIA documentation, including Statements of Affairs, 170 Reports, Court Orders, Affidavits, Certificates of Discharge, Trustee’s Reports, Tax Returns, and Final Statements.
  6. Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to debtors and ensure their needs are met.
  7. Maintain high-quality control and apply specialized knowledge to address issues or risks relevant to debtors.
  8. Contribute to developing new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
  9. Maintain flexibility to travel as necessary.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field is considered an asset.
  • Completion of Insolvency Administration or BIA Insolvency Counselor courses.
  • Willingness to work towards a CIRP designation is an asset.
  • 3 to 4 years of insolvency experience; professional services experience outside insolvency will also be considered.
  • Working knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
