Job summary

A provincial university in Saskatchewan is seeking ESL Sessional Instructors for Winter 2026. The ideal candidates will possess an M.Ed. or M.A. in TESL or a related field, along with TESL accreditation. Responsibilities include teaching in the EAP and LINC programs and developing curriculum. Qualifications

  • An M.Ed. or M.A. in TESL or a related field, minimum B.Ed. or B.A.
  • TESL Accreditation at minimum TESL Canada Level 1.
  • Experience in teaching English as a Second Language, especially in EAP and LINC programs.
  • Ability to teach at different levels (basic, intermediate, advanced).
  • Experience in teaching through remote or Hybrid delivery is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the EAP Program, LINC program, or short-term programs.
  • Develop curriculum and instructional materials.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff on ESL program development.

Skills

Knowledge of second language acquisition and teaching methodology
Ability to work collaboratively

Demonstration of a creative and reflective approach to language teaching

Position Summary: The ESL Program invites applicants for Sessional Instructor appointments for Winter 2026. Pending class availability, successful candidate(s) may teach in the EAP Program (12-week semester), LINC program (12-week semester) or short-term programs (3-week or 5-week programs).

Position Requirements: The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • An M.Ed. or M.A. in TESL or a related field (a B.Ed. or B.A. in a related field is the minimum requirement)
  • TESL Accreditation such as TESL Canada or TESL Sask (TESL Canada Level 1 is the minimum requirement)
  • Knowledge of second language acquisition and teaching methodology
  • Experience in teaching English as a Second Language, including within an integrated skills EAP program and/or Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) courses
  • Proven ability to work at different levels (basic, intermediate or advanced)
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Language Benchmarks
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Demonstration of a creative and reflective approach to language teaching
  • Experience teaching in a multi-cultural environment
  • Experience teaching through remote or Hybrid delivery an asset

Physical Demands: Pay Grade Faculty ESL Sessional Lecturer, Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement.
