Job summary

Great Plains College is seeking a dynamic ESL instructor for the Warman Campus. The role centers on planning and delivering English language instruction for settlement, academic or work contexts, with multi-level groups and PBLA-based assessment.

Responsibilities include daily lesson preparation, clear presentation of material, and fostering an adult-education, learner-centered classroom. Travel may be required and CERTESL or equivalent qualification is expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of PBLA approach to implement assessment and planning in the classroom.
• Plan and deliver English language instruction using CLB guidelines in a multi-level setting.
• Prepare each day’s lessons and present material clearly for all learners.
• Create a learning environment that supports adult education and learner-centered collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and implement an ESL instructional program for settlement, academic or work purposes.
• Deliver daily instruction and present course material in a clear, comprehensible manner.
• Foster an adult-education style learning environment that emphasizes collaboration.
• Adapt to learners with varying literacy levels and backgrounds; travel if required.
