Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an online ESL instructor to serve HEU members in Canada. The role uses Moodle for asynchronous learning and Zoom for synchronous workshops, with short 1-on-1 meetings. You will assess needs, set goals, provide feedback, and create an inclusive online learning environment.

Requirements: TESL Canada recognized certificate and an undergraduate degree, plus at least 2 years' experience teaching adult ESL with student-centered methods. CLB/PBLA knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Excellent pedagogical knowledge and online instruction experience using Moodle and Zoom.
• Undergraduate degree and TESL Canada recognized TESL certificate or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience teaching adult ESL with student-centered methods.
• Community-based, settlement and Literacy ESL experience is an asset.
• Working knowledge of the CLBs and PBLA.

Responsibilities

• Deliver online ESL classes to HEU members via Moodle and Zoom.
• Assess needs, set goals, and provide feedback to students.
• Create a warm, inclusive and safe online learning environment.
• Provide feedback on curriculum and adjust to meet client needs.
