The SDGA (Sustainable Development Goals Solutions Assessment) supports investors in aligning strategies with the UN SDGs by assessing how companies’ products and services contribute to or hinder sustainability objectives. This analysis forms an essential part of our ESG ratings and solutions, offering insights into portfolio impacts on 15 sustainability goals.

We are seeking an ESG Analyst to join our SDGA research team in Manila. The successful candidate will focus on collecting and analyzing revenue data from corporate disclosures to evaluate the impact of companies’ portfolios on sustainable development. This role involves reviewing reports, websites, and identifying relevant solutions using our proprietary methodology, employing qualitative and quantitative analysis to generate reports and studies.

Our analysts uphold research integrity through thorough, detail-oriented work, combining big-picture thinking with critical analysis. ISS ESG offers unique growth opportunities for generalists and specialists, providing deep ESG insights and sustainable investment expertise.

The team is based in the Philippines, US, Australia, Germany, Sweden, India, and the UK. The candidate will work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, international environment emphasizing cooperation and a supportive, collegial atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Perform revenue-based research to assess the impact of company products/services on sustainable development
• Collect, interpret, justify, and document data and conclusions
• Make estimations/calculations for data not directly provided
• Address internal and client queries to ensure research aligns with methodology and policies
• Participate in projects and committees beyond core responsibilities
• Collaborate closely with team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability, Climate Science, Social Sciences, Business & Economics, Business Analytics, Life Sciences, or relevant fields
• 2-4 years of professional experience in sustainability-related fields, financial services, ESG research, or academic research
• Solid knowledge of UN SDGs
• Excellent English skills, both written and oral
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail
• Ability to process large data sets quickly
• Passion for ESG and responsible investment
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Fast learner with the ability to grasp new concepts easily
• Basic understanding of financial reporting is a plus

*This role will follow a traditional/day shift schedule with a hybrid work setting.
