Job Description:
In January 2020, Langara College migrated its HR and finance operations to the cloud-based Workday ERP platform. Langara is now transforming its Student Information Systems (SIS) through a suite of solutions, including the Workday Student product. Design efforts on Workday Student have revealed needs to adjust Langara’s existing Workday platform and related business processes. This role will primarily support these Student-HR “touchpoint” projects.
Under the guidance of project managers, the Business Analyst assesses client needs and business and systems requirements, aligning them with IT solutions. The role involves defining functional requirements, designing solutions, data analysis, system configuration, business process analysis, testing, training, and documentation. The Business Analyst also contributes to benefits realization planning and tracking, serving as a key member of the team with a strategic perspective on integrating business operations with enterprise solutions.
Qualifications Required:
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- At least 5 years of business analysis experience, with in-depth knowledge of applications and business requirements.
- Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of project management, quality assurance, and change management.
- Experience in software implementation projects as a Business Analyst is preferred.
- Experience producing BRDs, use cases, user scenarios, user stories, BPMs.
- ERP implementation experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Student modules on ERP projects is strongly preferred.
- Benefits realization management experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of business process mapping and BPMN.
- Experience facilitating diverse groups.
- Data analysis and modeling skills.
- Understanding of IT industry trends.
- Higher education or public sector experience is an asset.
- Commitment to continuous learning and practice improvement in business analysis.
