Major Responsibilities:
- Implements detailed plans and recommends policies/procedures regarding program-specific requirements.
- Supervises, motivates, and trains assigned staff, ensuring effective teamwork, high standards of work quality, organizational performance, continuous learning, and encourages innovation.
- Supervises the day-to-day operation of all assigned staff, including scheduling, assigning, reviewing work, and managing vacation and overtime requests. Monitors and evaluates staff performance, approves salary increments, hears grievances, and recommends disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Provides input into and administers the assigned budget, ensuring expenditures are controlled within approved limits.
- Contributes to planning and implementing upgrades, new releases, functionality, and deployment of Enterprise Applications Systems to new business units.
- Prepares documentation detailing processes followed in Enterprise Applications Systems and assists in establishing policies and procedures.
- Monitors and administers Business Cases, RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- Offers suggestions and guidance on emerging technology trends and technology roadmaps for Enterprise Applications Systems.
- Assists other City areas, including Agencies, Boards, and Commissions, in implementing Enterprise Applications Systems Solutions.
- Participates in planning and developing short and long-term work packages.
- Participates in annual internal and external audits.
- Analyzes performance indicators to measure operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction, establishing employee objectives.
- Provides analysis and input into work estimates and status reports for sponsors, managers, and senior management.
- Supports the implementation of Enterprise Applications across City divisions, including projects affecting entire City operations and specific agencies.
- Ensures maintenance of corporate standards in Enterprise Applications Systems.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with division personnel, providing advice and guidance on Enterprise Applications Systems usage.
- Supports resolution of issues or barriers in Enterprise Applications Systems operations.
- Participates in project teams requiring technical expertise and leadership in Enterprise Applications Systems.
- Supports operations related to Enterprise Applications Systems maintenance.
- Advises City divisions, agencies, boards, and commissions on Enterprise Applications Systems issues.
- Ensures the security and integrity of the City's confidential data, records, reports, and sensitive information per corporate policies and SAP standards.
- Analyzes business needs and identifies best practices through documentation of business and system requirements.
- Organizes workshops to formalize designs, modifies, and creates business processes for business transformation solutions.
- Participates in SDLC-based IT initiatives, managing all project phases from initiation to maintenance of Enterprise applications.
Key Qualifications:
Your application should describe your qualifications related to:
- Post-secondary education in computer science or equivalent experience/education.
- Significant experience with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, including gathering business requirements for data analysis of performance, financials, risks, and KPIs.
- Experience integrating data from multiple sources such as databases, cloud services, and third-party APIs.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting data modeling and visualization issues.
- Developing optimized data models, DAX calculations, and queries for reporting.
- Microsoft PowerBI certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of secure data practices, including encryption, access controls, and data masking.
- Knowledge of Power BI or Fabric licensing models is an asset.
- Experience with other analytics tools like SAP Analytics Cloud or Tableau is an asset.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and tools like Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or SSIS.
- Knowledge of data exchange connections (e.g., OData, Salesforce, Google, SQL databases).
- Strong skills in ETL, data cleansing, and performance optimization for large datasets.
