Job summary

Coastal Care Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our ER team. The role involves triage, anesthesia induction and recovery, diagnostics, and delivering compassionate client and patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting.

The ideal candidate will graduate from a licensed veterinary technician program, have VTNE, and be in good standing or eligible to license with NSVMA/EVTA.

Qualifications

Graduate from a licensed Veterinary Technician program.
Completed the VTNE.
In good standing or able to license with provincial boards (NSVMA, EVTA).
Able to perform physically demanding work (lifting up to 50 pounds) and constant motion.

Responsibilities

Triage patients and monitor vitals in a fast-paced ER setting.
Induction, maintenance, and recovery of anesthesia for procedures.
Perform imaging and laboratory diagnostics.
Fill and review prescriptions; communicate with clients.
Discharge patients and provide client education; collaborate with team.
