Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The RN provides primary care for Emergency/Trauma patients, performing assessments, interventions, education and advocacy in collaboration with the care team, patients and families.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current B.C.L.S.
• Current ACLS Certification and/or Basic Arrhythmia Course
• Two years emergency experience or equivalent certificate/experience
• TNCC and ENPC preferred
• CPI training is an asset
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to a fast-changing and stressful environment
• Commitment to continuing education within the past two years
• Participation in nursing council, unit committees, and quality improvement projects
• Strong organization, communication, problem-solving and team-work skills
• Ability to apply critical thinking to patient care
• Ability to function independently within a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care for Emergency/Trauma patients in the ED.
• Collaborate with the health care team, patient and family to support care.
• Assess, intervene, educate and advocate for patients.

• Work closely with multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care
