ER Charge RN

Overview

The RN Charge Nurse will be responsible for coordinating the nursing care on their shift. They will oversee ER patient flow, focusing on providing a safe and effective environment for patients and staff through increased communication and customer service.

Job Relationships

Supervised by: Director of Critical Care Services

Supervisor of: RN’s, LVN’s, Monitor Techs/Unit Secretaries, and E.R. Tech’s

Qualifications

1. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
2. Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certification.
3. Must have one year experience in Emergency Department.
4. Competent to perform services in triage, fast track (RTA), and main E.D.
5. Management of Assaultive Behavior completed within 90 days of hire.
6. Dysrhythmia certification.
7. Current NIHSS certification, or within 90 days of employment.
8. 4 hour Stroke class within first 90 days of employment.
