Job summary

Bank of Montreal in Canada is seeking a seasoned financial markets professional. The role requires 4–6 years of relevant experience, a post-secondary degree, and eligibility for CIRO licenses. You will work with various asset classes and use market data and trading platforms to support market analysis and client activity.

Candidates should be prepared for a 7-hour shift between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. The base salary ranges from 85,000 to 105,000 CAD, with the total compensation package

Qualifications

• Typically between 4 - 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Degree in Accounting/Economics/Mathematics/Statistics, CFA preferred.
• Working knowledge of financial markets with previous exposure to the financial markets and/or analysis gained through a combination of work and educational qualifications is required.
• Must currently hold, or be eligible to obtain, the required CIRO Registered Representative licences and certifications for the applicable branch and jurisdiction.
• Series 7, 63, and 55 licenses required or attained within 6 months.
• Demonstrates solid deal/transaction execution.
• Strong understanding of one or more asset classes including Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Rates, Credit, Equities, Commodities, or Derivatives.
• Experience using market data and trading platforms (Bloomberg, Tradeweb, MarketAxess, or similar platforms) to support market analysis, pricing, and client activity.
• Knowledge of institutional trading workflows and the trade lifecycle, including execution, confirmation, settlement, reconciliation, and risk management processes.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret market data, identify trends, and formulate client-focused recommendations.
• This role requires flexibility to work a 7-hour shift scheduled between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
• The salary base range for this role is $85,000 - $105,000.
• Individual compensation will vary based on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.
