About the Team: Our research team is integral to our Global Equity platform, focusing on the Canadian market and providing targeted international research in the US and Latin America. We produce daily investment views, sector updates, detailed research reports, portfolio analyses, and strategic insights.

Purpose: As a Research Associate, you will work closely with experienced analysts to develop financial forecasts and produce research publications that inform client investment decisions. This role offers opportunities to build client relationships, develop sector expertise, and enhance financial modeling and valuation skills. The position is based in Toronto.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform financial statement analysis and maintain financial models.
  2. Conduct industry research using various sources.
  3. Gather and interpret company and industry data.
  4. Assist in preparing research publications and market commentary.
  5. Monitor market news and evaluate data for trend analysis.
  6. Create PowerPoint presentations for client meetings.
  7. Engage with institutional investors and manage inquiries.
  8. Build relationships with investor relations and company management.
  9. Liaise with sales and trading teams within regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications:

  1. Degree in business, accounting, or finance.
  2. CPA, MBA, Master of Finance, or CFA enrollment/completion preferred.
  3. Experience in real estate/REITs sector is an asset.
  4. Strong financial, modeling, and analytical skills.
  5. Experience analyzing financial statements and company valuation.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  7. Knowledge of VBA, Python, or similar is a plus.
  8. Excellent communication skills.
  9. Strong judgment, decision-making, and ability to work under pressure.
  10. Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  11. High energy and eagerness to learn.

Work Arrangement: Currently on-site with at least 4 days/week in Toronto; subject to change.
