Job summary

National Bank of Canada’s Capital Markets Equity Research team seeks a Research Associate Analyst for the Merchandising & Consumer Products sector in Toronto. You will report to the Merchandising & Consumer Products Research Analyst and thrive in a fast-paced, ambitious environment.

You will analyze financial statements, build models, and perform market research while contributing to research notes and client communications. Strong English writing and long-hour flexibility are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with financial modeling and analysis
• Strong educational background
• CA, CPA, CFA designation is desirable
• Industry experience and professional credentials are preferred
• Willingness to work long hours in an unpredictable setting
• Strong writing and communication skills in English
• Preference will be given to candidates with previous analytical experience in equity research

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements and value domestic and foreign companies
• Develop and maintain financial models
• Conduct industry and market research and data collection
• Evaluate information from press, corporate and industry sources
• Assist in writing and editing research notes, reports and presentations
