Under the direction of the Vice-Principal Student Affairs and Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism Specialist plays an integral role in the implementation and administration of Bishop’s University's EDI-AR initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting programming and initiatives (e.g., training, events, workshops) that promote Bishop’s commitment to EDI-AR and develop competency among students, faculty, and staff;
- Supporting the development and integration of diversity and inclusion programs within the university community;
- Providing subject matter expertise on EDI-AR strategies to committees such as the Anti-Oppression Advisory Committee and other university bodies;
- Supporting the VPSA-EDI in implementing and updating policies related to equity, diversity, and inclusion;
- Facilitating consultations with equity-deserving groups, campus units, and other stakeholders on curricular issues including decolonization, anti-racism, indigenization, and anti-oppression;
- Supporting the EDI reporting efforts for the EDI Action Plan related to the Canada Research Chairs Program;
- Serving as a resource on current EDI, social justice, and equal rights issues for the university community;
- Acting as an intercultural and anti-oppressive resource for the Ombudsperson and conflict resolution departments;
- Mitigating tensions and providing a confidential, safe space for faculty, students, and staff seeking advice and support;
- Contributing to communications and presentations to ensure EDI principles are reflected;
- Promoting critical thinking around curricular issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion;
- Performing other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, education, or training in a field related to equal rights, social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion;
- Five to eight years’ experience developing and delivering EDI programs and initiatives;
- Experience in delivering programming related to anti-oppression, anti-racism, and accessibility within a university or similar setting;
- In-depth understanding of intersectional issues related to EDI in complex organizations;
- Fluency in both English and French;
- Strong intercultural awareness and lived experience as an equity-deserving individual;
- Experience in developing anti-racism and cultural diversity initiatives;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with proficiency in various media;
- Diplomatic skills for handling sensitive issues with respect, dignity, and confidentiality;
- Strong listening skills and ability to build trust within the university community;
- Ability to analyze, synthesize data, and think critically.
Salary Range: $64,555.40 to $84,247.80
