For decades, EAM has delivered reliable road and bridge maintenance across urban and rural corridors. Our teams perform the full scope of highway maintenance activities, including vegetation control, drainage, sign and pavement repairs, concrete and wood bridge repair, gravel surface grading, anti‑icing, snow plowing, and incident and emergency response. Based out of regional offices and yards, our skilled year‑round workforce scales up during winter operations to meet seasonal demands and maintain prescribed response times on numbered routes.

We take pride in our people and in serving the Fraser Valley, Robson, and Skeena communities with diligent patrols, clear communication, and consistent quality. As part of the Emil Anderson Group, we pair deep local experience with the resources of a respected BC construction network to keep people and goods moving safely year‑round.

>Our success is rooted in our Core Values: Safety, Leadership, Improvement, Commitment, and Excellence. Joining our team means working on landmark projects, learning from industry leaders, and advancing your career in a supportive, safety‑focused culture.
The Opportunity

We’re seeking an Equipment Trainer—experienced and skilled in heavy machinery, safety compliance, and adult education—who’s eager to grow with a community‑focused company.

As an Equipment Trainer with EAM, you’ll develop and deliver effective training programs focused on the safe and efficient use of equipment and applicable safety programs. • Develop and maintain training content (curriculum, materials, manuals).
  • Assess training needs and customize programs for various experience levels.
  • Lead training sessions (classroom, hands‑on, virtual), traveling to different service areas.
  • Coach safe work behaviors; correct unsafe practices and support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain training records, competency assessments, and certifications.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Safety teams to prioritize training and ensure compliance.
Your Qualifications & Skills
  • 10+ years experience Technical & Equipment Expertise:
    • Proven experience operating a wide range of heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes).
    • In‑depth knowledge of excavation, earthworks, and underground utility work.
    • Understanding of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
    • Experience with both on‑road and off‑road equipment operations.
  • Safety & Compliance Knowledge:
    • Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC.
    • Experience with excavation safety, shoring, confined spaces, and hazard recognition.
    • Ability to identify unsafe practices and coach employees on proper procedures.
    • Certification in occupational safety or equivalent.
  • Experience with adult education and delivering training to diverse audiences.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Class 1 driver’s license in good standing.
  • Positive, motivated, outgoing individual who enjoys working outdoors and demonstrates flexibility.

  • Safety leadership compliance
  • Training and coaching capability
  • Communication & Facilitation
  • Operational Awareness
  • Training Program Development
