Airport Security Service Technician (Levels 1, 2, and 3)

KPrime Technologies is undergoing an aggressive growth phase and is seeking team members to join our team across Canada. We are currently expanding and looking for 3 new team members to join our team in Sudbury. The team comprises a mix of different level technicians that work rotating shifts supporting this airport and its satellites. KPrime Technologies is the foremost independent sales & service provider for chemical and security detection instruments in Western Canada with active sales and support throughout Canada. Established in 1997, we are committed to quality and customer service.

As an Airport Security Service Technician, you will be part of a team providing service on The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority’s (CATSA) passenger screening equipment at the airport and its designated satellites. This includes installation, repair, and maintenance of passenger screening systems. The company will provide all required in-class and hands-on training to support you in your role. We are seeking applicants with fundamental mechanical and electronics technical skills, networking and computer experience, and a commitment to high-quality results. Please note that the role is posted for a range of levels; the assigned level will be based on transferable skills and experience.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide service, installation, repair and maintenance of electrical/mechanical systems and equipment
  • Order, receive and return parts as required
  • Complete documentation and reports in a timely and concise manner
  • Liaise with on-site staff and partners in a professional manner
  • Adhere to company health, safety, and environmental policies
Education/Skills Requirements
  • Graduate of technical school, military training in electronics engineering technology, and/or related trade certification required
  • Experience in a field service environment with direct experience in x-ray, screening technologies, and/or knowledge of complex mechanical systems is highly desirable
  • Proactive and end-to-end customer service for internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written (English fluency mandatory; French fluency an asset)
  • Computer literacy and aptitude for learning specialized software programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications and Operating Systems (Windows, Linux)
Physical Requirements
  • Capability to sit, stand for prolonged periods, walk, climb, reach, bend and maneuver around equipment and work areas
  • Lift a weight up to 50 lbs / 23 kgs
  • Proficient with manual and power tools
  • Pass a Government of Canada security background check for high level security clearance
  • Be a permanent resident of Canada, or have a minimum of 5 years living in Canada with a valid work visa
  • Hold a valid driver's license and have reliable access to motor vehicle transportation
  • Hold a valid passport or work visa for training in the United States
  • Ability to work an irregular work schedule, including shift work and on-call duties
  • Ability to travel to remote airport locations for maintenance and emergency repairs
  • Ability to work on special projects and travel on short notice as required
Compensation package
  • Salary range of $45,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on starting level (1, 2, 3) with increases as skills advance through training
