Job summary

Ledcor is seeking experienced Equipment Operators for a road building and reclamation project in Fort McMurray, AB. You will operate excavators 20–80 ton and dozers, with opportunities to run grader, water truck, and roller packer.

The role requires adherence to safety standards and strong teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Camp accommodations and travel allowances are provided, along with extended health and wellness benefits through CLAC Alberta.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience operating dozers, excavators and other equipment.
• Experience in road building, reclamation or mining preferred.
• GPS machine control experience preferred.
• Fine grading experience an asset.
• Available for day/night shifts.
• Pre-access drug and alcohol testing completed.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ground Disturbance Level 2 certification.
• CSTS 09, CSO or OSSA BSO certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate Excavators (20–80 ton) and Dozers (D6–D10).

• Perform excavation, grading, loading, material handling and earthmoving activities.
• Set up dumps for optimal cycle times, windrow, striping and separating materials for loading units.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and daily Field Level Hazard Assessments.
• Work with crew to meet production and quality targets.
• Adhere to Ledcor safety policies and site requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

• Primarily operate Excavators (20 – 80 ton) and Dozers (D6 – D10)
• Operate other equipment such as a grader, water truck and roller packer as required
• Perform excavation, grading, loading, material handling, and earthmoving activities
• Set up dumps for optimal cycle times, windrow, striping and separating of organized materials for the loading units
• Perform pre-trip inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities
• Work collaboratively with crew members to meet production and quality targets
• Adhere to all Ledcor and project safety policies, procedures, and site requirements

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience operating dozers, excavators and other equipment
• Previous experience in road building, reclamation work or mining are highly preferred
• Experience using GPS machine control systems is preferred
• Fine grading experience is considered an asset
• Must be available for day / night shifts
• Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing
• Valid driver’s license
• Ground Disturbance Level 2 certification
• CSTS 09, Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or OSSA Basic Safety Orientation (BSO)

Work Conditions

• 14 days on and 7 days off, working 12 hours per day
