Equipment Operator, Paving

Kamloops, British Columbia Seasonal $32.06-$40.44/hour

Dawson Construction is looking for team members to join our 2025 Paving Team!

In these roles you will be a valued member of Dawson Construction, working in a seasonal, full-time position. We are hiring for multiple positions, including: Screed Operator, Paving Operator, Roller Operator, Skid Steer Operator, and Labourer. This team will report to the Superintendent of Paving. The paving team is responsible for operating equipment, assisting with roadworks, maintaining job site cleanliness, and contributing to the successful completion of project. The base location will be Kamloops, British Columbia, and will require travel throughout our great province.

What Success Looks Like

  • Prioritize safety of self and others at all times.
  • Deliver smooth, durable, and properly compacted pavement that meets project specifications and client expectations.
  • Work efficiently with fellow crew members, operators, and supervisors to maintain seamless job site operations and meet project deadlines.
  • Operate machinery skillfully, perform routine maintenance, and report any issues to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Show up on time, ready to work, and be adaptable to changing project needs, weather conditions, and site challenges.

What You Bring

  • Previous experience in asphalt paving and/or road construction is an asset.
  • Ability to operate paving equipment such as screeds, pavers, rollers, skid steers, and other machinery relevant to the role.
  • Capable of working in physically demanding environments, including long hours, varying weather conditions, and performing manual labor as needed.
  • Clean Drivers Abstract is required
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
