Qualifications

  • Experience operating a Tandem Axle Truck with Pup Trailer and Hook/Bin truck.
  • Ability to obtain City of Kelowna Certification on designated equipment.
  • Experience with other heavy mobile equipment is considered an asset.

Equipment Operator III

Split Landfill/Roadways Operations

The City of Kelowna has an exciting opportunity for an Equipment Operator III. This is a shared position between the Landfill and Roadways Operations Departments.An Equipment Operator III operates and maintains heavy mobile equipment in accordance with competency standards, safety practices, regulations as well as performing manual work. Work at the Landfill will be from approximately April to November and work in Roadways will be from November to March performing snow and ice removal with a tandem truck. Candidates will require a flexible schedule including the ability to work shift work in evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • BC Drivers License - Class 1 with Air Ticket
  • Experience operating a Tandem Axle Truck with Pup Trailer and Hook/Bin truck
  • Ability to obtain City of Kelowna Certification on designated equipment
  • Ability to run other equipment is considered an asset
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a clear Criminal Record Check
  • High School graduation or equivalent
