Job description

Equipment Operator I (Culvert Replacement Program)

Term: Seasonal-Temporary

Start Date: May 20, 2025

End Date: September 26, 2025

Full or Part Time: Full Time

Closing Date: Open until a suitable candidate is hired

Key Responsibilities
  • General labour and light equipment operation to carry out the culvert replacement program.
  • Operate and maintain equipment according to the Thorhild County Transportation and Safety Manual.
Required Qualifications
  • Standard First Aid.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and to perform a variety of manual tasks (heavy lifting, squatting, bending, twisting, and climbing).
  • Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license at a minimum, preferred Class 3 with Q endorsement.
  • Work performed with exposure to the outdoor elements.
  • Successful candidate required to provide a Criminal Records Check and Driver’s Abstract.
  • Must participate in a Fitness to Hire Assessment.
Additional Information

This position is included within the scope of the County’s unionized setting (IUOE Local 955) and is based on an eight (8) hour workday. Hourly pay range for this position is $27.92-$33.54. Current employees of Thorhild County fulfilling the requirements essential to this position shall be considered.
