Job summary

The Bluewater Recycling Association, based in Huron Park, Ontario, is seeking an Equipment Operator to support our Material Recovery Facility. Reporting to the MRF Manager, you will operate loaders, skid steers, and forklifts to load trucks and hoppers, while monitoring processing equipment and maintaining quality control.

This role includes manual sorting duties, strict safety protocols, and a shift of Monday to Friday, 9:30am–6:00pm, with overtime after 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience in operating heavy equipment in an industrial setting.
• Ability to monitor and manage material flow and maintain safety standards.
• Strong attention to quality and contamination reduction targets.

Responsibilities

• Operate loaders, skid steers, and forklifts to load hoppers, compactors, and trucks.
• Monitor balers and conveyors to ensure efficient material flow and safe operations.

The Bluewater Recycling Association, based in Huron Park (near Exeter), has an immediate opening for the position of Equipment Operator.Reporting to the MRF Manager, as an an Equipment Operator you will play a key role in the functioning of our Material Recovery Facility.

Main Duties:

• Operate heavy equipment including loaders, skid steers, and forklifts to safely load hoppers, compactors, and outgoing transport trucks within the Material Recovery Facility (MRF).
• Operate and monitor recycling processing equipment such as balers and conveyor systems to ensure efficient material flow and safe facility operations.
• Perform manual sorting of recyclable materials on the processing line while maintaining quality control standards and contamination reduction targets.

Working Hours:

Monday-Friday 9:30am - 6:00pm. We work all statutory holidays, except for Christmas Day and New Years Day.

Physical Demands:

• Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent climbing in and out of loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Repetitive motions involving the hands, wrists, arms, and feet while operating equipment and performing sorting duties.
• Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and operating heavy equipment.
• Exposure to noisy, dusty, hot, cold, and foul-smelling environments in an industrial recycling facility.
• Ability to work safely around moving machinery, conveyor systems, and mobile equipment.
